Synopsis
"Finally a royal entry into karaoke movies" (Suburban Nitelife) "The Karaoke King" explores one fateful night in the wacky world of Lil's, America's 1st karaoke bar, and its amusingly dysfunctional regulars. Meet Eddie Bowman (Ken Wilder), the reigning "Karaoke King" and local celebrity. One night a week, this man rules. But when the King's girlfriend of 14 years gives him an ultimatum, Eddie is forced to choose between love and karaoke. Enter Rupert Goldfine (Anil Kumar), the King's life-long nemesis and recent star of American Icon, who has returned to steal the crown and the girl. In a quandary, Eddie consults the mystical, Zen-quoting/cross-dressing bar owner, Miss Fuji (Ron Zarr), for answers. This instant "cult classic" (WKMG/CBS) weaves a T&A-tinged farce of love, betrayal and, most importantly, karaoke. Immerse yourself in this karaoke-fueled, small-town community as we strive to find the answer to "Who will be King?" |
